My Score at the SCMG Plant Sale
Today I volunteered at the annual Snohomish County Master Gardener Plant Sale. Even though I was working the sale, I made sure to sneak in a couple purchases. You know, because I have a plant buying addiction.
Anyway, here’s what I picked up.
- Tiarella ‘Iron Butterfly’
- Mukdenia ‘Crimson Fans’
- Athyrium ‘Ghost’
- Brunnera Macrophylla ‘Mr Morse’
- Nasturtium ‘ Ladybird cream w/ purple spots’
- Sanguisorba
- Hardy Geraniums 1. ‘Phoebe Noble’ 2. ‘Phaeum’ (black)
- Ligularia ‘Rocket’
- Echinops (Globe Thistle)
- Aruncus dioicus (Goats Beard)
Wow! You got some great stuff there! You’ll love Crimson Fans. One of my faves! I’ve also got several varieties of Geranium phaeum and love all of those, too. Yep, you scored! :-)

Kylee, I paid more for the Crimson Fans than any of the other plants – I’m glad you say I’m going to love it! That makes me feel better about my purchase. It’s just not every day you find a shade loving ground cover with that coloring/shape!

Congratulations!!! You made out quite well from the looks of it. (and I hear you loud and clear on the plant-buying addiction. I’ll look for you at my next Plantaholics Anonymous meeting – ha.)
I have a Tierella that I planted last fall – it is still small, but it’s flowering, and very lovely. I hope yours does well for you.
I love Brunnera so much – it’s on my wish list, along with Goats Beard.
Can’t wait to see what the rest of these plants are like! Have you had a chance to get them in the ground yet?
