2012 Garden Goals/Resolutions

Wow. It’s been a long time since I posted something. I guess my first goal for 2012 should be that I write more often. Anyway, here are my gardening goals for the upcoming year. Keep in mind that my garden is hibernating for winter — so don’t judge!!

Winter is Fast Approaching – My Winter Tour

I took a walk around the garden this morning to see how everything was doing – I took some pictures to share. Early on I was greeted by my local hummingbird. I was happy to see s/he was still able to find a couple flowers on my salvia ‘hot lips,’ hardy fuchsia, honeysuckle and toad lily. Poor little guy won’t have anything after awhile so I’ll need to make sure the feeders stay full.

I’ve Lost Faith in My Neighbors

Ok, I still like my immediate neighbors, but there’s someone who walks down my SHORT alley that stole the most beautiful dahlia bloom, stepped on a bunch plants in the process and then destroyed my other Dahlia when they pulled it out of the ground and tossed it on the other plants. This very thing was happening in 2007 and I swore I’d never grow flowers (especially Dahlias) in the alley again. And here I am, four short years later thinking I can get away with tucking a couple Dahlias in the garden.

How can someone be so heartless?
