Prize #3 – My FAVORITE Things Week
I’m excited about today’s prize! Anyone that knows me in real life knows I LOVE knit sweaters, shawls and scarves! I picked up a brown version of this shawl in October from the Okanogan Farmer’s Market and wear it as a scarf almost every day. I like it so much I picked up this cream one to give to one of you.
7:15 p.m. WINNER UPDATE: #12 CLAIRE IS THE WINNER!!
I purchased this shawl from IM Gourds & Stuff in Omak, Washington. If interested, you can reach them at (509) 826-2554 or imjohnson@communitynet.org.
Please take a moment to read our vacation nightmare Renting the Ali’i Mana Ruined Our Vacation and tell your friends.
Hi Angela!
I love scarves and wear them everday myself. It’s so cool of you to be doing a giveaway…very generous!
Your trip to Maui sounds horrific. You should place a review on Yelp.com and get the word out even more. Next you go to Maui I hope it’s a lot better experience. If you do, please let me know because I’ve been there several tiimes and know all the good places to eat :)
See you on Twitter!
Nicky
P.S. Did you go to the Surfing Goat Dairy when you were there?

I love knits and that one looks very warm and cozy indeed. I think it would look perfect with my jeans , frye boots, and a new grey knit long bell sleeved tunic!
You know if I don’t win I am going to have to go and find one now…

I’m SO SORRY about your awful experience in Hawaii! It’s awful to be in paradise and have some stupid rental company ruin it for you! BOO!

Thanks for spreading the word so everyone knows to avoid using http://www.hawaiianbeachrentals.com and the Ali’i Mana. Their vacations will be so much more pleasant if they do!

I can’t wait to wear this scarf. Only if I win. Hint, hint. I have knit a few in my time and have some wonderful patterns for some new ones to make.
Have you thought of talking to a lawyer about this horrible place that you stayed at? I still hope you get your deposit back.
what Island were you on? I will make sure that I never stay there.

I read this in disbelief! What a horrible company and such awful customer service. I have done customer service for 35 years and this is not acceptable. Is there not somewhere to report this? Here we can complain to a Better Business Bureau.
I hope to visit Hawaii in the near future so I am glad for the heads up about this place.

That’s some scary and ugly stuff that occurred on your vacation. Sure hope something like that never happens to me/us. Sheeesh…. noise complaint at 6:00 PM??? So — how was the wedding with the dog, anyways? (attempted humor-sorry) :) Really sorry to hear that a Hawaiian vacation tuned out so … so… can’t find the words. Thanks for the heads up on this realty company and their practices, however.

A cautionary tale. Yikes! Good for you for putting your story out there to share with folks who might otherwise befall the same sad vacation fate. I hope this gets back to them!
Also, I need a scarf. My last good one has disappeared, oh my goodness, do I need a scarf. *shivers*

Just looked at the BBB review and they already have 7 disputes in 36 mos. 4 dealing with refunds. Make sure you report these losers now and stop them from having the chance to do this to more unsuspecting vacationers!! Good luck!

I’m not at all surprised they have 7 disputes! We were holding out on placing ours since it’s our bargaining chip to get our refund.

Lovely shawl/scarf and lovely of you to be offering giveaways during the holidays. You embody the spirit of the holidays. I’d like to think I’d pass this along to someone is need myself-perhaps as one of those prayer shawls since I never manage to find the time to knot one myself.
